I'm back!!!

Back from India! Sorry it's taken me so long to update, I have been very busy getting caught up with school... and life has just been crazy on a lot of levels!

I am just going to give a few quick 'snapshots' of the trip.  It was a an incredible week and the Lord rekindled my passion for the country of India.

We did a couple of cool things during the trip that were non-ministry related like:

-Running after, throwing our luggage on and jumping on a MOVING TRAIN! (we felt like we were in a missionary movie!)

-Going to an Indian wedding (SOOOO fun!  They even got me to dance!... well... attempt to at least! :o)

-Meeting and getting a private concert from India's one and only country music singer... Bobby Cash!  hehe,  we were cracking up about it (you know... country music... India... 'Bobby Cash')... and then we saw the man perform... and WOW!  I have never seen anyone play the guitar like that!!  It was incredible, he played it like a harp, all fingers on both hands moving constantly, while he was singing!  You should look him up on youtube-- but the videos he has on youtube aren't very good.... but it will give you an idea anyway. His stuff has been on the CMT's before and he's gotten numerous offers for record deals in Nashville, but he doesn't want to be managed or something like that....  anyway, we had fun!

Ministry-wise, the camp went soooo well.  It was so good to see those kids again.  My heart is knit to theirs. I will be back there again (God-willing).

-Our camp theme was "Where heroes are made" and we talked about men and women out of the Bible who were close to God and whom He used--- but they weren't anybody special in the eyes of the world.

-I also got to give the gospel message twice, once to a predominantly hindu group of children and my partner, Amy, gave her testimony.  It was an incredible thing and the Holy Spirit spoke through us.  One of the girls who was hindu (I would guess she was about 13-15) came up to me afterwards and announced to me that she loved Jesus!  She didn't speak much English so that was about where our conversation ended, but she said it with such determination, that I could tell it was coming from the heart.

Man there was so much that happened, but this is already so long.  Shoot me an email if you want to hear more.  Or call my cell! (I can email you my number if you send me an email).

Okay okay!!! I'll post about India!

I have been putting off doing it because I have a billion and one other things to do before I go and I know that the whole India story is so incredible that I won't do it justice to sum it up...

But for the sake of stopping this harassment--I'll sum it up!

Basically this is something that God has been stirring my heart to do for a long time and then in January He gave an opportunity.  I am travel to India for a mere 9 days with my good friend Amy, who is a student at Bethany with me.  We are both a part of the same team of people who will be moving to Indonesia for 16 months next January... but I will talk more about that later.

We will be working with the same children's home that I worked with a 1 1/2 years ago in Dehradun.  I cannot wait to see those beautiful kids again!  Arun, Sahil, Joyti-Bala, Pauloos.... !!!! Ahhh!!

We do need prayer though.  Neither of us have ever traveled out of the country by ourselves and had to book all of our own plane, train, visa, stuff!  It is an adventure, but please pray for grace especially during travel and for our health.

We also would like prayer because the 2 of us will be single handedly putting on a Bible/english camp for 75 children and teaching 125 children english in the mornings.  Neither of us have the ability to carry out an endeavor of this magnitude and we are completely leaning on God for everything we need.

Our heart is that the children would know God's 'father heart' of love for them during our stay there in a deeper way.  We are praying that seeds will be planted that will bear lasting fruit.

Another prayer request is that we will find really good deals on all the materials for the camp and be able to creatively pack that amount of stuff so that we don't have to be charged for additional luggage.

Oh-- and also that we would be able to accomplish everything that needs to get done this weekend and next week.  We are both falling a little behind in our studies and there is a HUGE temptation to worry and get anxious, but we know that God is giving us grace day by day and we are learning to lean on Him.

We really need all the prayer we can get so if you would stop a moment now and just pray for us, we would really appreciate it!

We leave next Friday, April 20th and return April 29th.  Verrrrrry short trip, but it is PACKED full!

I'm sure there are tons of spelling/grammar errors in this, but I don't have time to go back and re-read it...

God bless you all--- remember, don't worry about tomorrow, God hasn't given you grace for tomorrow yet.  He has given you grace for today.  This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Wow, I realllllly don't post on here that often AT ALL!!  And looking back at my recent posts it seems like I have nothing to say... but it's not that.  Actually I have too much to say and I don't know how to sum it all up!

Life has been crazy beyond all possible reason lately, (so I probably shouldn't be on xanga :o)!  School has started up again at Bethany and classes this semester have been pretty challenging so far, but eventually we will all adjust.

I have really realized in the years since I've graduated from the Honor Academy that the HA was only a stepping stone to further growth in the Lord.  I hope that I will look back one day and see Bethany in the same light.  I want growth in the Lord to characterize my life regardless of where I am or what I'm doing.

Recently I entered into an accountability relationship with a friend of mine.  It is not a requirement at Bethany or anything, but it was a mutual hunger for holiness and more of God that motivated us to pursue accountability.  And I highly reccomend it!  Honestly, it has probably brought about more growth than any other single thing at Bethany.

HA North started their first semester using our campus last week.  It has been fun having a few more new faces on campus.

I love my job on campus.  I am an assistant to the Director of the College and to the Dean of Women.  I love the atmosphere, the people, and the work I do... although it's never something I pictured myself doing. (or enjoying!)

I share a 2 bedroom apartment with 3 other girls, one of whom is my mentor.  And speaking of Jasmine, she is a huge blessing in my life and one of the best leaders I've ever been 'under'.

Bethany, thus far, has been an incredible time of growth in relationships with the Lord and others, healing and refining for me as an individual, and equipping for a lifetime of service to God.  Though it has been filled with ups and downs, as most things are, I am discovering how to find the joy of the Lord in all situations.  I look forward to the rest of this year with great expectation.

A year from now I will be beginning a 16 month internship in either Indonesia or Kenya.  No matter how much I say that, my mind cannot seem to wrap around that idea yet!

Okay, so there's the readers digest version of my last semester.  Hope you enjoyed!

[ps. Callie!!!  It was so good to see you!!!!]
